Posted by: Phat Mama, 31-Oct-2009I have not heard of Melt before until I saw the label at Robinsons, The Gardens and I must say I love the simplicity of the designs.
"Effortless style" - that's how Melt describes its collection and it really is. It is the kind of clothes that can fit most occasions, day to evening pieces that comes in subtle earth tones as well as the classic blacks.
Oversized bows and ribbons are used on tunics but they don't look tacky. Cleverly matched with the right shorts, tights and even sheer black stockings can give quite stunning results.
Drawstrings can look a little messy on a top but those found in Melt's collection seem to work. There's also a generous use of drapes and pleats, which help accentuate a girl's waistline.
This season' colors are a cool blue palette of flirty turquoise, icy aquamarine and rich indigo. Complementing these colors are dark onyx, ivory, slate grey and nude khaki.
Material used are of lightweight cotton, silks, jersey, georgette and satin.
