Trendy clothes set the pace
Posted by: Phat Mama, 18-Apr-2009The concourse of The Gardens Mall was in full bloom last night. The garden setting set up for its Fashion Week was, according to a media friend, “even prettier than last year’s”.
This year’s fashion extravaganza kick-off highlighted collections from 2%, Bittersweet, Ylang Ylang, Graffitee and Sole What.
The evening was all about “funk and fabulous” fashion, catering to the more sophisticated young adult who stops at nothing to stand out and make a statement. Eye-catching designs and colours easily won the crowd’s attention.
Fashion Label 2% was the first to set the stage on fire, continuing the party mood started by Switch Dance Group who did an eye-popping breakdance routine.
The event was also to celebrate the mall’s Spring Summer 2009 collection and the night’s theme was based on fashion inspired by music icons Gwen Stefani, Kanye West and Lady Gaga.
Specially invited to entertain guests was Malaysia's alternative rock band Army of Three.
