Expansion plans all mapped out
Sa Sa was established in 1978 as a one-stop cosmetic specialty store and today it is one of the top retail groups in Hong Kong. Being one of Hong Kong's major sole agents, Sa Sa also represents over 100 international beauty brands in Asia.
The fragrance awards have been held in Taiwan for three consecutive years even though the market there is comparatively small.
"Our aim is to educate the public. We want to tell them that Sa Sa has everything under one roof. We have lots of choices," said Hong Kong Sa Sa (M) Sdn Bhd Senior Vice-President and Country Head Corina Loi.
Besides having over 110 stores in Asia alone Sa Sa also has a strong marketing tool – its e-commerce arm, sasa.com, which provides online shopping service to its customers worldwide.
But where the future is concerned, Sa Sa already has everything mapped out. By year end Sa Sa will be adding three more outlets to its existing twenty three in Malaysia.
Two of these new outlets will be in Kota Kinabalu in Sabah while the third will be in Johor Bharu, which is a joint venture with Jaya Jusco.
"We will take over Jaya Jusco's Beauty Hall in Bukit Indah, Johor Baru," Loi said.
Sa Sa is already represented in Hong Kong, Macau, China, Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia. But the next big move will be its expansion to penetrate the overseas market, with expansion to Australia in the pipeline.
